We are pleased to announce that Monte Carlo 76 is being featured in Amoeba Music’s Homegrown program. The Homegrown program highlights local independent music championed by Amoeba employees. If you haven’t picked up a copy of Marisela yet, here’s yet another way while also supporting one of the last record stores in LA.

Here’s the first of the video from last night’s show at Teocintli. More to come!

We are going to have a listening party/acoustic set/poetry reading at Teocintli on Saturday February 21st.
We will be playing the new album, do a couple tunes from it without the full band, and hear poetry from a bunch of different guests. Loosely, the theme is gentrification.
Stay tuned for more updates on performers, etc!
I read the LAEastside blog from time to time and saw a great post on mural art there. Go check it out for some good discussion and pictures.
LAEastside also has a great ongoing discussion on gentrification and it’s potential impact on East LA. Gentrification is an underlying theme of Marisela and the subject of Love, the Night, and Gentrification, one of the songs on the album.
For those of you who want it now, you can download Marisela here at Amazon. Remember to give it a review!
Also, Sun Will Rise, In My Garage, and Mesmerize have all been played on podcasts recently. Give the following two shows a listen and hear some other great music!

Monte Carlo 76’s brand new second album Marisela is now available at two stores in the Los Angeles area, Amoeba and Teocintli. We’ll have it available at CD Baby and digitally soon as well.

Tex has got a couple things going, especially for blues harp fans in the Inland Empire. Go over to his MySpace page and check out the details.
